frucheman asked: I'd suggest that anon looks into the historical context of blackface. Both blackface and bleached skin/blonde extensions are a concern to me, but for entirely different reasons. The former has usually been used in the past to play up African American stereotypes perceived by outsiders and often to intentionally denigrate them. Whilst the latter is appeals to a Eurocentric form of beauty which can lead to self loathing in those who have strong African features.
Thank you, that’s all I’m saying.
Anonymous asked: I think natural hair is beautiful. It is a shame more black women don't think this way too :(
Exactly!! I mean everyone has their own style but to turn your back on your own kind is crazy. I don’t have a problem with weaves or wigs or whatever but the whole European look isn’t the only look
Anonymous asked: I just read the commentary you gave to the gentlemen about how you feel about the black face and all and I understand but what I don't understand is why is okay for black women to wear straight blonde hair weaves, blue contacts, bleach their skin, and etc. It seems to be acceptable to society as something normal, but if someone of another race wants to put a at least an afro wig they seem to be the biggest racist out there which I don't seem the fairness in that at all.
I understand where you’re coming from but those African Americans who try to look a certain way have their own issues that they need to deal with. Every time I see another race wearing a Afro wig or doing black face it’s either comedy or racism it’s never anything positive that’s why when I see black face to be disrespectful
